Many of us love the beauty of Winter season. But Winter weather is not fun for our skin. Cold weather and low humidity levels result in dry air, which then steals moisture away from our the skin. As the temperatures continue to drop, the dry environment and lack of moisture allows for cracked hands, chapped lips and scaly legs. you need to do more to actually counteract these effects and keep skin looking youthful and smooth. if an individual have oily skin tone, they don’t have to suffer from dryness during winter due to extreme weather condition. But this is totally wrong concept. The winter wind is so strong that even people with oily skin tone gets pulled out skin during this season. To reduce chapping, redness, itching, and keep skin more healthy and comfortable this season, try these winter skin care tips.

1.Don’t shower in super hot water:

We know it’s tempting, but showering with hot water tends to dry out your skin even more. Hot water removes natural oils from the skin, and the more oils removed, the drier the skin becomes.

2. Moisturize More:

Your skin not only needs more moisture, but moisture right after you wash. Find an moisturizer that’s oil-based, rather than water-based, as the oil will create a protective layer on the skin that retains more moisture than a cream or lotion.

3.Protect your skin from cold air:

Try to cover the most of the body with the clothes. Do not expose the skin to the cold air. Get used to wearing gloves and scarves to protect skin from cold winds, rain, and snow. Also, don’t forget the sunscreen. Winter sun can be just as damaging as summer sun.

4.Drink more water:

We tend to drink less water in the winter because we turn to hot drinks like cocoa and tea, but don’t forget that your skin needs hydration from the inside, out. A little warm water with lemon can be very refreshing and hydrating at the same time.

5.Don’t overheat your house:

Central heating and air conditioning, even climate controlled environments can play a part in drying your skin. Central heating often compounds the problem and can actually cause humidity levels to drop inside the living space. Air conditioning removes water from indoor air and has a drying effect on skin.

6.Use DIY Masks to winter skin care:

Home made hydrating masks can provide needed moisture in the winter months. Use natural moisturizing ingredients like honey, avocado, yogurt, olive and jojoba oils, almond oil, bananas, and aloe. Mix what you like together to create a cream or paste, and leave on skin for 10-30 minutes for lasting hydration.

7. Stick to healthy fats:

At the grocery store, fill up a cart with foods full of healthy mono unsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids, such as fish, nuts, olive oil, flax, sardines, and avocados.

Vitamin C can help boost the body’s production of collagen, a protein that maintains skin and other connective tissues.
